Crianlarich Youth Hostel to the Bridge of Orchy railway station bunkhouse proved a much better day; almost no rain, excellent temperature for walking and a very congenial place to stay at the end of the day.
Plus I was joined part way through the day by my very good friend Harry, who’ll be around for a week or so.
The scenery here is stunning and it has been enjoyable seeing the Caledonian Sleeper in and out at either end of the night.
Trains are a big part of the Bridge of Orchy bunkhouse, which is the old railway station itself. Lovely.
It is difficult to convey the peace, quiet and solitude that comes from walking in Caledonian pinewoods.
It is, the odd bird-call aside, totally silent here and gorgeous to behold. As it was on the seventh day when God saw what He had made and it was good.
